KAZOZA in a few words…

Kazoza, which literally means “Future”, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster sustainable development opportunities in Burundi. This mission is achieved through the effective support of projects and the implementation of sustainable initiatives.

Kazoza was formed by and consists of young Burundians living in Canada who have joined forces to seek and to create advancement opportunities for other young people in Burundi.

Kazoza's philosophy is that a prosperous future for Burundi can only be achieved through a long term vision aimed at promoting the self-sufficiency of the people while substantially lessening the population’s reliance on aid.

Kazoza focuses its action on young people in Burundi as they are the future of the nation and Kazoza intends to help unleash their entrepreneurial spirit. "Your task is not to foresee the future, but to enable it" said Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

The organization has put in place a Revolving Fund to improve access to credit for least privileged entrepreneurs in Burundi. This improved access to credit will drive business and job creation and decrease the tremendous lack of employment in general and among the younger population in particular.

In addition, Kazoza will provide knowledge-based support in order to foster innovation and enhance projects funded through this program.

In few words, Kazoza strives to be a pillar of sustainable and meaningful development!
